LGBTQIA+ Homelessness and Ageing – what it means for Mt Alexander
This community forum hears from three speakers with knowledge of LGBTQIA+ homelessness and ageing in Australia and Mt Alexander Shire. They are Dr Cal Andrews (social researcher –LGBTQIA+ Homelessness), Tonye Segbedzi (local resident, social researcher and policy specialist –LGBTQIA+ ageing) and Karen Karavan (local resident with lived experience and knowledge of local homelessness); chaired by Anitra Nelson (CFU).
These presentations will be followed by discussion from the floor, to address the question: ‘What does this mean for homelessness and ageing support services in Mount Alexander Shire?’ The evening is run in collaboration with Castlemaine Free University and the Northern Arts Hotel.
A ‘must attend’ event for local LGBTQIA+ people, health care professionals, homelessness and ageing service providers, and community activists with compassion and care.
