Community Screen of Second Nature

Thorne Harbour Country are proud to co-present a community screening of Second Nature along with Trans and Gender Diverse Bendigo and Beyond, and Castlemaine Pride!

Celebrate International Non-Binary People’s Day and watch Second Nature on the big screen! Narrated by the iconic transgender and non-binary actor and activist, Elliot Page (he/they) and directed by Drew Denny (she/her), Second Nature explores the remarkable diversity of sex and sexuality across the natural world. Through stunning visual storytelling and scientific insight, the film challenges long-held assumptions about what is considered “natural” and why these stories have been excluded from mainstream education and media for so long. It invites audiences to celebrate that queerness has always existed and that the natural world is anything but binary.

We want to make all our events accessible to our community. If you are unable to afford the full price or concession ticket price, please contact us and will can arrange a ticket for you.

Castlemaine Pride acknowledges and pays our respects to Djaara, the traditional custodians of Dja Dja Wurrung Country. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and recognise that this land was stolen; sovereignty never ceded. We honour the contribution of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans, intersex people, sistergirls and brotherboys to the ever-evolving story of the community.
